Scott Bradlee & the Postmodern Jukebox is a swing band that bridges classic pop and jazz with modern popular music. Often referred to as simply the Postmodern Jukebox, the outfit is led by Scott Bradlee, a jazz pianist and vocalist who spent the majority of his music career with an aversion to pop music. After accepting popular music as a vast spectrum rather than the antithesis of refinement, he formed Postmodern Jukebox as his means of contributing his own, swing-flavored take on modern hits. Taking songs like One Direction's "Steal My Girl" to the 1950s doo wop era, Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" to Motown's golden years and The Backstreet Boy's "I Want It That Way" through a 1970s soul portal, the band proves that songs aren't cold, hard objects but rather malleable entities that can be shaped and altered without losing their soul.
