Founded in 1985, the Central Park SummerStage has become one of the premier summer arts festivals in New York. Summerstage runs during the summer (generally June-October) and offers performances of classical and contemporary music, dance, spoken word and opera. New Yorkers from all five boroughs flock to the park to relax and enjoy the free show. Shows vary but there is always something for everyone. Check the website for schedule and performers.
