Argentine duo Pimpinela is composed of brother and sister Joaquín and Lucía Galán, who grew up singing duets at family gatherings. In the late 70s, they both attempted to start solo careers, but at the urging of their family they ended up recording a single together in 1981. By 1984, Pimpinela had received acclaim throughout Argentina and began spreading its romantic Latin ballads throughout South America. The duo embarked on a tour in 2010 in Spanish-speaking countries to promote the 25th anniversary of Pimpinela's debut album.
