Having split her time as a child between Panama, Spain, the US and the Dominican Republic, Roxiny is a singer/songwriter with an international worldview and an electropop sound infused with several cultural layers. After moving to Naples, Italy at age 15, she discovered punk music that echoed the rebellion and freedom of the gypsies, street children and natives she met along her travels, and she was immediately fixated with creating her own music. Roxiny signed a contract with Sony records as part of the latin duo J'zabehl and subsequently toured the world, learning about the music business on the fly. When J'zabehl disbanded, she relocated to New York City and began writing and producing her own brand of alternative pop music, eventually releasing her debut solo EP QOYA, in 2013.
