Musician and producer Walter Schreifels began his musical career in the 1980s playing in various hardcore bands in New York, most notably in Gorilla Biscuits. After that band broke up, he fittingly formed the post-hardcore band Quicksand before moving onto River Rivals, an alternative rock supergroup with members from many of the hardcore bands Schreifels previously played in. His next career move was to start performing solo as a singer/songwriter that produced surprisingly pop-friendly tunes, releasing his debut album in 2010. While Schreifels' music has spanned the spectrum of genres, he has maintained a fan base that generally enjoys every one of his musical forays.
