Tradition Interruptedexplores how twelve artists from around the globe are merging contemporary ideas with traditional arts and crafts in a wide range of media. These craft and art practices, from rugs and mosaics to metalwork and ceramics, are often passed down from generation to generation and come to define a culture visually. Today, artists are reimagining these traditions and reclaiming them for the contemporary world. Docent Tours at 2:30 PM daily, with an additional tour at 6:30 PM on Thursdays.Tradition Interruptedwas organized by Bedford Gallery at the Lesher Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek, CA.Remy Jungerman: Higher Groundpresents a selection of mixed-media assemblages and free-standing sculptures by the Surinamese-born Dutch artist.
