Formed in San Francisco by five musicians displaced from their hometown of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Honey Island Swamp Band was conceived in 2005. After releasing an acclaimed EP full of roots rock and swampy Americana, the band returned to its home and continued churning out what it calls "Bayou Americana." Known for its fast finger-picking skills and four-part harmonies, the group has become a fixture on Louisiana's live music scene.
