The bluegrass band known as The SteelDrivers emerged in 2005 out of the country music capital of the world. The Nashville-based outfit took its time cultivating a distinct sound and local following before signing with Rounder Records and releasing its eponymous debut in 2008. The album catapulted the group onto the national stage, spawning the country hit "Blue Side of the Mountain," and earning The SteelDrivers a Grammy nod for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The band has continued to expand its reach into wider North American audiences with releases such as 2013's commercially acclaimed album, Hammer Down.
