Abby Valletta is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Connecticut. She specializes in a technique called Neuromuscular Reprogramming®.
NMR® works with the body's organizational intelligence to reprogram the patterns governing movement. It is used to correct muscular imbalances, dysfunctional movement patterns and other trauma that have become stuck in the motor control center of the brain. For your body to function, the muscles must work together in different and overlapping kinetic chains. Oftentimes, through injury, trauma, periods of immobilization, repeated movements, poor posture, bad footwear, we can alter the way our muscles work and communicate together. One car accident can inhibit a muscle, causing it to "sleep on the job" for sometimes many years or even decades. As we still need to show up to work, support families, do housework, the body is clever and finds other ways to get the same movement or function done. NMR® works to untangle this web and allows the body to establish new, better patterns.
