Whether working within the confines of sparsely intimate folk or more pop-oriented material, Anna Ternheim is a relatively young but well-respected member of Sweden's singer/songwriter scene. The Stockholm native took to music by the time she was just 10 years old, learning to play the guitar and writing songs. In 2004, she received the Swedish Grammy award for "Best Newcomer of the Year" based on the strength of her debut album, entitled Somebody Outside. With a handful of accolades and a full repertoire of songs in her back pocket at such a young age, Ternheim has since continued to build on her steadfast career as one of the more melodic and lyrically-gifted songwriters in Sweden.
