John Kay is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who is best-known as the lead singer of the seminal Los Angeles rock band Steppenwolf. After joining a Canadian blues and folk group called The Sparrows in 1965, he relocated the project to California, cultivated his own sound and renamed the project Steppenwolf in 1967 to noted success. Though Kay officially launched his solo career in 1972 with his debut single, "I'm Movin' On," the talented songsmith has primarily maintained affiliations with Steppenwolf over the course of his long stretching career.
