Amir Mohamed el Khalifa is a hip-hop artist from Washington, D.C. who creates a soulful, observational brand of rap under the moniker Oddisee. After crafting his signature sound at the heart of the DMV community (an area encompassing D.C., Virginia and Maryland), he released his first mixtape in 2005 before relocating to Brooklyn, New York and signing a deal with Mello Music Group in 2008. After dropping his debut album, 101, in 2008, he created his own imprint, Oddisee Music, further solidifying himself into New York City's multifaceted music scene.
