English band Elbow is one of the UK's most revered bands of the 21st century, winning the country's highly regarded Mercury Prize in 2008 for their fourth studio album The Seldom Seen Kid. The band combines various rock styles into their music, their hit single "Grounds for Divorce" an ostensibly blues heavy track while many others foreground piano for ballad-style songs. The lead singer Guy Garvey cites Radiohead and the Peter Gabriel-era of the band Genesis to be inextricable facets of Elbow's sound.
