After leaving the highly influential progressive rock band Genesis in 1975, Peter Gabriel embarked on what would become a successful solo career defined by several commercially successful albums. The English musician has widely been seen as a performer that can dig his hands into various forms of music and consistently manage to create well oiled sonic productions, such as 1980's Melt, and 1986's So. With a keen knack for stage theatrics, Gabriel became known for accompanying his new wave, pop and experimental music with engaging visual spectacles during his live shows.
