Though multi-generational family bands have lost much of their mainstream potential, they are a novelty in the music industry with the capability to capture dedicated fan bases around the world. With a repertoire of pop, rock and folk music the US-born Kelly Family began making music together in the 1970s and earned success in several European countries including Spain, Germany and Portugal with its gypsy image. Though the family has come a long way since its double-decker bus tour, long haired and homemade clothing days, the Kelly Family steadily released its music for nearly four decades. Originally consisting of Daniel Kelly Sr., his wife and eleven children, the group retired following the death of Sr. Kelly in 2002. Many of the Kelly children have gone on to pursue solo careers but often come together for special concerts and tours such as 2012's Stille Nacht tour, featuring Paddy, Patricia, Kathy Paul and Joey.
