Dean Wareham has remained a highly influential member of the indie-rock community for over twenty years now. After moving from Australia to New York City in 1977, Wareham would go on to found the sparse indie rock outfit Galaxie 500 in the late 80s. Since then, he has been a core member of the slow-burning rock group Low and is currently performing with one of that band's members as a duo, going by the name Dean and Britta. Wareham has also recently entered the film world, scoring 2005's, The Squid and the Whale. Wareham's style is often based around slow, quiet guitars and a fragile, earnest singing voice.
