Country folk and Americana singer-songwriter Ian Noe arrived on the scene towards the end of the 2010s. A native of Beattyville, KY, he was taught to play the guitar by his grandfather and father. Songwriters who told stories through their lyrics appealed to him more than any other mainstream genre of music. Inspired by these artists, he began penning his own songs and soon had a sizeable repertoire of original material. He started out playing locally and won the grand prize in the Appalachian Starsearch in 2007 for his song "Don't Let the Morning Bring Ya Down." Armed with newfound confidence, he began to play at any venue that would have him and built a strong reputation as an artist to watch out for. He eventually signed a record deal with Silver and Gold Recordings, on which he released his debut EP Off This Mountaintop in 2017. Two years later, he released his first full-length record Between the Country on National Treasury Recordings. The album was an apogee of a decade-worth of live performances and experiences condensed in ten songs.
