David Pantalone, PhD, will be speaking about "The State of the Science on Mental Health and HIV-Related Health Behavior Interventions." He is the Director of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program and an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Professor Pantalone's research interests are at the intersections of clinical and health psychology. His research includes the development and efficacy testing of cognitive behavioral interventions, as well as the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices, focused on preventing and treating HIV and ameliorating LGBT health disparities. Much of his work has focused on the syndemic indicators affecting sexual minority men and people living with HIVincluding mental disorders (especially depression & PTSD), substance abuse and dependence (especially alcohol & stimulants), and interpersonal violence (especially childhood sexual abuse & partner abuse). In addition to his work with sexual minority men, Dr. Pantalone has conducted research with a variety of other populations, including women living with HIV, transgender individuals, and adults on the autism spectrum. He uses a variety of research methods, including qualitative, cross-sectional and longitudinal survey, and randomized controlled trials, to investigate relevant research questions.
