Eric Whitacre is an American composer and conductor who has been creating music for over two decades. He is best known for his choral works, which have been performed by choirs around the world. His discography includes albums such as "Light & Gold" (2010), "Water Night" (1995), "Cloudburst" (2008), and "Deep Field" (2015). He has also released several singles, including "Lux Aurumque" (2000) and "Sleep" (2000). Whitacre's music is often described as ethereal and dreamlike, combining classical and modern elements. He has collaborated with a variety of artists, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the King's Singers, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He has also written music for films, including "The Prince of Egypt" (1998) and "The Polar Express" (2004). Whitacre has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance in 2011. He has also been awarded honorary doctorates from the Royal Academy of Music and the University of Cambridge. He continues to compose and conduct music, and his works are performed around the world.
