Robby Krieger is a guitarist and songwriter from Los Angeles who is best-known as a members of the seminal rock act The Doors. Struck by music at an early age, Krieger would go on to play a number of instruments including the trumpet and piano before finding a connection with the guitar. Though at first falling for genres like flamenco and classical, after attending the University of California, Santa Barbra, Krieger was introduced to blues luminaries like Wes Montgomery and Albert King, whose unmistakable playing left a defining impact on Krieger's approach to guitar composition. After banding together and with keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and vocalist Jim Morrison under the moniker The Doors in 1965, the group managed to achieve massive success before Morrison's unfortunate death in 1973. Having since gone on to distinguish himself as a formidable guitarist who's capable of playing in many different musical styles, Krieger has proven himself as one of the more influential guitar players of his generation.
