Join this DLL Research Seminar by Prof Sally Thomas (School of Education University of Bristol) to explore selected findings from two UK DfID/ESRC funded research projects Improving Educational Evaluation and Quality in China and Improving Teacher Development and Educational Quality in China (http://ieeqc.bristol.ac.uk/) conducted in collaboration with National Institute for Education Sciences, Beijing. The research investigates the nature and extent of educational evaluation and teachers professional development in three Chinese regions (east/west) as well as the existence and relevance of professional learning communities (PLCs) in Chinese schools. Both quantitative and qualitative data has been analysed including interviews and focus groups with 170+ stakeholders and teacher and pupil survey data from 100+ senior secondary schools in three regions.
