NEIL ANGILLEY piano/keys/vocals, DAVIDE GIOVANNINI (Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood) on drums/vocals & DAVIDE MANTOVANI (Babba Maal, Jim Mullen, Andy Sheppard) on bass. Composed by leading UK Latin-jazz pianist Neil Angilley, the trio have just released a new recording called 'The Lake District' - an eclectic mix of jazz & classical music. Written as a symphonic work for piano, electric bass & drums, the piece comprises 9 movements that describe musically the beautiful Lake District in England. The work is dedicated to children's author and conservationist Beatrix Potter who owned and donated much of the land to the National Trust. The composition draws on influences from great British classical composers such as Elgar & Vaughan Williams. Regarding Neil's first release
"Neil Angilley has long been one the UK's best kept secrets in the Jazz world. The Neil Angilley Trio debut album Havana Club is nothing short of spectacular, reminiscent, at times of the great works of Michel Camillo and Chick Corea, this Brazillian-fusion trio album is world class and is a very fulfilling listen. I won't highlight any particular title on the album as they're all great, so, as I say: just take a moment to check it out."
