A Taste of Honey is a play written by British dramatist Shelagh Delaney when she was just 19. Set in Salford, England in the 1950s, A Taste of Honey tells the story of a working class teenager and her mother as they fall in and out of romantic relationships and have to navigate the complex world of social mores. Premiering at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in London in 1958, A Taste of Honey has received numerous revivals in addition to being turned into a film of the same name in 1961.
