The Manfreds is a reincarnation of the 1960s British pop group Manfred Mann that includes all of the former band's core members with the exception of the artist who started it all, Manfred Mann. When Tom McGuinness, Mike D'Abo and Paul Jones reunited in 1991 to promote a compilation of the original Manfred Mann's hits from the 1960s, such as the 1963 pop classic "Do Wah Diddy," they decided to keep performing together as The Manfreds. The freshly minted group released its debut album, 5-4-3-2-1 in 1999 followed by a live album in 2000.
