Considered to be the UK's complement to the wide-eyed experimental pop of bands such as Grizzly Bear and Department of Eagles, The Leisure Society is an up-and-coming group based out of England. The origins of the band go back to 2006, when Nick Hemming (formerly of the 1990s rock band, She Talks to Angels) moved to London. Once there, he developed a symbiotic songwriting partnership with multi-instrumentalist Christian Hardy. The two then pieced together like-minded musicians to bring their combination of psychedelic folk and Beatles-esque pop to life. The Leisure Society has since enjoyed an ever-increasing amount of positive word-of-mouth, including from some significant members of the rock and pop world, such as Brian Eno.
