Sharon Shannon is an Irish musician who is best known for her uniquely characteristic accordion, fiddle, tin whistle and melodeon playing. After joining the group Disirt Tola at the age of eight and touring the United States with the band by age 14, Shannon would go on to cut her musical teeth on the road and learn how to refine her playing through direct experience. She released her self-titled debut album in 1991, establishing herself as one of the premier Celtic-inspired musicians of her generation.
