Shenandoah is a country band from Muscle Shoals, Alabama that was founded in 1984. Releasing its self-titled debut album in 1987, the group achieved crossover popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group's 1995 single "Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart," featuring a guest vocal from Alison Krauss, on Shenandoah and Krauss a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
