Lisa Simone is the daughter of American legend Nina Simone. Born as Lisa Celeste Stroud she adopted the stage name Simone in honor of her mother. During her early years, Simone was employed as an engineer for the US military. After being discharged, she sang back up for various bands finally finding her way to musical theater. She has worked in major Broadway productions like Rent, Aida and Les Miserables. She has extensively toured across America and quite a few times, internationally.
