Soilwork is a Swedish death metal band that was founded in in 1995. Its trademark sound consists of synth arrangements with elaborate melodies and bright vocal accompaniments. The band's big break came in 2001 with the release of A Predator's Portrait. Soilwork gained international success and became one of the more influential Scandinavian bands of its genre.
