On January 6, the descendants of the freedom fighters, the Maroons, will be having their annual celebrations commemorating the 1738 signing of their peace treaty with England. The event is also used to pay tribute to Cudjoe of the Maroons, and Maroons from across the globe will visit Jamaica for the event. Activities will include the ritual feeding of the ancestors, and a drumming display by present day Maroons. Entertainment will be provided. Authentic Jamaican meals will be on sale.
While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of our listings, events may be postponed or cancelled without notice. Please confirm with the organizer before making any plans.
