Moop Mama is a German hip-hop collective that fleshes out the usually digitized genre with elaborate live instrumentation and a wide range of genre influences. At times sounding like a ska group, while at others seemingly taking on a funk persona, the band's music is punctuated with a full horn section that keeps the music bright, full and packed with palpable energy. Throw in the vocals, which are rapped in both German and English, and you've got a worldly, danceable and feel good version of hip-hop that should easily win over fans of like-minded groups such as Jurassic 5 and The Roots.
