The Annual Barbecue Sauce Contest, has been taking place in Kansas City since 1980. The original rules demanded that the contestant cook up ten pounds of beef, pork or lamb, and the judges would pass the verdict by rating it from 1 ("Not For Me!") to ten "Super Excellent." Today, this contest boasts 500 teams competing to win the top prize money of USD12,500. The barbecue-related trade expo just adds to the fun.
