En Vogue is a female R&B vocal group from Oakland, CA that is best known for the chart topping singles it released throughout the 1990s. Assembled in 1989 by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy, En Vogue's radio-friendly songs managed to capture the zeitgeist of the time, helping the group land seven MTV Video Music Awards, five Soul Train Awards, six American Music Awards and seven Grammy nominations. Though En Vogue's popularity has since faded substantially since its heyday, the group has nevertheless continued on and maintained a fairly respectable touring and recording schedule.
