Dhanteras

The Hindu festival of Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi, marks the beginning of Diwali festivities. On this day, prayers are offered to the Goddess Lakshmi (the Goddess of Wealth) and Goddess Dhanvantari (the Goddess of Health). Since the day is considered very auspicious, devotees make new purchases to bring good luck, health and splendor into their homes.
