Lorelle Meets the Obsolete is a psychedelic rock duo that was formed in Guadalajara, Mexico by Lorena Quintanilla and Alberto Gonzalez. Sharing both vocal and instrumental duties, the pair, now based in Ensenada, crafts a hazy blend of shoegaze, krautrock and psychedelic garage rock. Lorelle Meets the Obsolete first captured its sonic aesthetic on the 2011 LP, On Welfare, quickly rising to the forefront its local psych scene. The rest of the world caught up when the group contributed the song "Medicine to Cure Medicine Sickness," to Sonic Cathedral's 2013 compilation Psych for Sore Eyes, exposing its dreamy soundscapes to a broad international audience for the first time and cultivating anticipation for its third studio album, Chambers, which was released in 2014.
