The Hershey Bears, based out of the 'Chocolate City', compete in the American Hockey League's Atlantic Division. Founded in 1938, this franchise is the longest operating member of the AHL; it played its 5,000th regular season game in 2006. The team is one of the top affiliates of the NHL's Washington Capitals and several players who've spent time on the Bears have gone on to have illustrious careers playing in the NHL. The team has also been one of the most prolific in terms of AHL titles, since its establishment the Bears have won 16 division championships, 22 Eastern Conference crowns, and 11 Calder Cups.
