R&B and jazz vocalist Patti Austin is a singer/songwriter from Harlem who secured a recording contract with RCA Records at the age of five. She was a highly sought after sessions musician throughout the 1960s before she signed to Quincy Jones' label Qwest Records in 1980 and released her album Every Home Should Have One. The album featured her first number one single, "Do You Love Me?" / "The Genie." On top of the 18 albums she released between 1976 and 2011, Austin recorded duets with some of the world's most renowned artists such as Michael Jackson on the track "It's the falling In Love" from his now legendary Off The Wall album. Half a century after getting her first record deal, she won her first Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for her 2007 record Avant Gershwin.
