He found inspiration from old gospel records and the work of outlaw country artists like Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. The results his career has yielded thus far, however, would fit more comfortably in the pop-country genre, with polished and catchy songs full of the kind of nostalgic and lovesick lyrics modern country fans go nuts for.
