Known as the front-man for the British rock band The Rattles, Achim Reichel is a singer/songwriter, musician and producer from Hamburg who started a successful solo career in the 1970s. Having founded the psychedelic pop group Wonderland as well as the Krautrock project A. R. & Machines, Reichel has an affinity for psychedelic and rock music that is evident on his first four albums, including his 1972 solo debut AR3. Around the mid 1970s he began to develop an interest in classic German songs and poetry set to modern music, resulting in his 1979 album Dat Shanty Alb'm. Reichel has maintained a successful solo career with his traditional style of music and is perhaps most famous for his hit song "Aloha Heja He," which was featured on his 1991 album Melancholie & Sturmflut.
