The Canisius Golden Griffins represent the 17 intercollegiate athletics teams of Canisius College. Competing in the NCAA Division I, all teams are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with the exception of men's ice hockey, which belongs to Atlantic Hockey conference. While the Golden Griffin is the moniker for a variety of sports including volleyball, synchronized swimming and football, Canisius College is best-known for its men's baseball, men's lacrosse and women's softball departments. Their main rivals are the Niagara Purple Eagles of Niagara University. This storied, all-sports rivalry is known as the Battle of the Bridge.
