Pippi Longstocking is a fictional character that was created by Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren. Nine-year-old Pippi is carefree and oftentimes flippant with her interactions to adults. Oftentimes playing tricks and gambling those older than her, Pippi's character has typically appealed to children and adolescent audiences. Though her stories are filled with outlandish and supernatural elements, there are typically staunch messages and lessons to be learned from Pippi's wacky adventures.
