Despite the band's endless breakups and reformations, unsuccessful reincarnations in an attempt to keep up with the times, ever-rotating members and general rocky history, Lynch Mob is still an important name on the rock-metal market. Formed by California native and ex-Dokken guitarist George Lynch, the band joined the hair metal scene right on the tail end of the genre's popularity in 1990. With the subsequent rise of grunge, the group found little success with its followup albums and disbanded. After attempting to recreate its sound based on the popularity of rap-core bands in the late 1990s, Lynch Mob again was met with little success. In the late 2000s, however, Lynch Mob went back to its original sound and (mostly) original lineup, traveling the country on various greatest hits tours.
