Formed by Harvard graduates Thomas Lauderdale and China Forbes, Pink Martini is a 12-piece orchestra based out of Portland, Oregon. After attempting to get involved in politics and discovering the painfully dull musical ensembles that generally play at political events, Lauderdale was inspired to create a group that fused classical, jazz and various styles of music from around the world, including French pop and Latin lounge. This inspiration became a reality in 1994 and Pink Martini went on to win huge acclaim in France with its first single. Since then, the popular group has played with famous orchestras throughout the world, been included on Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks and built a large fan base from Turkey to Australia to the US.

Céu is a Brazilian singer/songwriter whose soulful singing glides over the sonic musings of her five-piece band, which includes turntables and a keyboard, integrating a kind of generation-bending funk. Andrew Heissler is a singer/songwriter from Bloomington, Illinois who creates American roots music under the moniker Pokey LaFarge. After discovering blues music and graduating high school, he hitchhiked around the country, busking on sidewalks, meeting like-minded artists and crafting his blues-infused Americana sound. Pokey self-released his 2006 debut album, Marmalade, followed by 2008's Beat, Move & Shake before he joined forces with his friends of the South City Three to form Pokey La Farge & the South City Three. With his new band, Pokey released Riverboat Soul in 2010, and has since been charming an international audience with his nostalgic brand of American roots music.

While studying political science as well as classical and baroque vocals, she was mentored by musician Jean-François Bonne, who taught her about improvisation with a repertoire of music spanning as far back as 1910. After playing a series of shows around Paris, she recorded her debut album, Cécile in 2009, and has since gone on to build a reputation as one of modern jazz music's preeminent voices.
