TARM was formed in 1994 in the town of Pordenone, which became one of the most punk rock cities in Italy. Tione Jayden Merrittm, aka Lil Tjay, raps about many things, sometimes about the sad things in life, his past and even about the Bronx, the place where he grew up. The first steps of his journey began at an online music sharing platform where he would post his songs. "Resume" and "Brothers” are some of his earliest creations, they helped him gaining his huge online fan base and are also responsible for getting him signed by a record label. He made his official debut in 2018 with the EP No Comparison. To many guitarists influenced by the progressive rock movement of the 1970s, Steve Hackett stands as one of, if not the high priest of the six-string. Their total album sales worldwide is now over 18 million, helping make the band one of the world's best-selling group from France in history.

Shauna McKenzie is a raggae singer from Jamaica, who is best know by her stage name, Etana. After moving to the US to attend college and to pursue a career in music, McKenzie felt disillusioned by the music industry and decided to return to Jamaica. A true original, she embraced her rastafari roots and eventually started to release new music and to tour America and Europe. Her fourth studio album, I Rise was released in 2014.

The English alternative dance outfit Saint Etienne was formed in 1990 and with a sound that employs a good amount of electronic production, the band managed to amass a substantial fan base. The group blurs several styles of music including trip hop, house, pop and dance to create a genre bending sound that's easy listening.

CunninLynguists is a hip-hop trip with roots in Lexington, KY and Atlanta, GA. Founded in 2000, the group is composed of rappers Deacon the Villain, Kno and Natti. After releasing its debut LP, Will Rap for Food, CunninLynguists earned acclaim for its clever lyrics and tight production. The group continues to making music that pushes the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop.

During its heyday, the English band Blur was one of the groups that helped define the Britpop sound. With guitar-driven hooks and an adherence to a quintessential British sound, the quartet reached massive mainstream appeal throughout the 1990s before breaking up in 2003. Solidifying its lineup in 1988, Blur would go on to receive a lot of press attention from UK music journalists who praised the band's style, that was an evolution from the Madchester sound--a genre of music popular in Manchester in the 1980s that blended dance-friendly rhythms with psychedelic rock instrumentals. When Blur's debut album Leisure was released in 1991, though, many believed the group failed to live up to its expectations and dubbed it an outfit that was the result of anti-climax. Overcoming negative reviews and acceptance of its first album, the group went on a massive tour in a fight to win over listeners. Throughout this stint on the road, in particular the time spent in America, the members of Blur would become dissatisfied with the state of modern music and the band's approach to song composition. This resulted in a change of direction for the group and alteration of Blur's sound. This shift warranted the group more popularity, and subsequent albums like Parklife and The Great Escape would go on to help establish Blur as one of the more interesting acts to come out of England in recent memory. Though the band did break up in the early 2000s, it got back together in 2009 to play a number of British festivals and has since performed one-off shows on rare occasions.

Leo Sayer (originally Gerard Hugh Sayer) is a British singer. He was most famous during the 1970s and 1980s, when he released songs like "Long Tall Glasses", "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", and "Orchard Road." Over Nik Kershaw's long career as a musician, he's worn several different costumes that signify his ever changing role within the music community. In the '80s he was a teen idol, and at one point in his career his was considered a virtuostic jazz-funk guitar player. He's settled into a more mature role, though, and plays simple, no frills, acoustic soft rock. While these tunes might be a bit laconic in instrumentation, their lyrics are full of allegorical meaning and rich in context.

Travis Stewart is an electronic music producer and hip-hop artist from North Carolina who creates music under various monikers, including Syndrone, Tstewart and, most notably, Machinedrum. With an affinity for polyrhythms, he transitioned from playing in alternative rock bands into producing electronic music and started composing as Machinedrum in the late 1990s when he was still in high school. Very few artists take as drastic of a shift in their musical careers as Joe Jackson has. The English born musician was integral in the new wave scene in the late 1970s and had a good deal of success. However, after a move to New York, Jackson started delving deep into the eclectic worlds of jazz and classical music. His career 180 helped set him apart from the vast amount of aging new wavers and even though his current music is far less lucrative than the stuff he was making in the 1970s and 1980s, it's nonetheless worthy of critical praise.

London band Mamas Gun is five-piece funk band lead by singer-songwriter Andy Platts. The group's name does in fact come from the classic Erykah Badu record of the same name, and they similarly explore the neo-soul and nu funk championed by Badu. The band's debut album Routes to Riches was released in 2009, with the single "Pots of Gold."

John Grant began his music career in 1994 when he formed the alternative rock band The Czars. Since then, John has left the band to embark upon a solo career with his first album, Queens of Denmark, released in 2010.

The French romantic composer Hector Berlioz occasionally used more than 1,000 musicians to perform his works. This vast extent of orchestration helped Berlioz bring to life pieces that were grandiose and huge in scope. His pieces are known to be rich and full of impressively dense sounds, but they are not necessarily instrumentally complex.

Pale Waves is a band from from Manchester, England that blends together alternative rock instrumental stylings with defined pop vocals to create a unique style of music. The group released its debut single, "There's a Honey," 2017 before embarking on a tour, opening for the popular alternative rock band The 1975.

Louisiana-born artist Marc Broussard is a singer/songwriter and musician who incorporates his Bayou roots into a soulful mix of blues, rock, pop and R&B. After spending time in the short-lived band Y, he began writing solo material and released his debut studio album Momentary Setback, in 2002. The record held his first hit, "The Wanderer," and captured the attention of Island Records, who released his sophomore album Carencro, in 2004. Broussard eventually signed with major label Atlantic Records and dropped his fourth studio album Keep Coming Back, in 2008, followed by his self-titled 2011 LP.

Maxïmo Park is a British alternative rock outfit from Newcastle, England that was formed in 2000. After spending its formative years playing shows around England--offering a opportunity to hone its songwriting approach and collective style--the band released its debut album, A Certain Trigger, in 2005 and was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

Known as the father of "Ethio-jazz," Ethiopian musician and arranger Mulatu Astatke made extensive contributions to jazz and world music through successfully combining jazz, Latin and Ethiopian traditional music. With a career that began in the 1950s, Astatke's creative peak was reached in the 1970's when his experimental combinations of sound and instrumentation amassed international recognition and acclaim. Despite becoming largely forgotten in the 1980s, Astatke's music was rediscovered a decade later in the 90s, effectively ensuring his place as one of world music's most influential musicians.

Dizzee Rascal is a British rapper who blends garage MCing, conventional rapping and various electronic music generes with extremely eclectic samples to create a unique style of music that is characteristically his own. The tallented raper is possibly best known for his debut LP, Boy in da Corner, released in 2003. With an unassuming persona and a slightly slapstick lyrical style, Rascal has managed to build a reputation as an easy to like musician who's capable of expressing his happy-go-lucky personality through his music.

Bratty is the musical project of Jennifer Abigail Juárez Vázquez, a Mexican singer-songwriter born on August 2, 2000, in Culiacán, Sinaloa. Known for her blend of indie-pop and lo-fi sound, Bratty gained recognition within the Mexican independent music scene with her 2018 EP Todo está cambiando and the hit single "Sobredosis de tempra." Her collaborative track "Ropa de bazar" with Ed Maverick, released in 2019, was a major success, earning quadruple platinum certification in Mexico. Bratty has since signed with Universal Music México and released two studio albums: Delusión (2019) and tdbn (2021). In 2023, she released TR3S, her third album, and performed at the Coachella music festival. Duke Dumont is an English producer and DJ who is probably best known for is popular hit "Need U (100%)" that came out in 2013. Starting his career by being mentored by the well known London-based producer Switch, Dumont would go on to remix a number of top 40 pop songs before releasing his debut EP in 2007. After playing for a number of years around the UK club circuit, in addition to releasing additional material, Dumont would eventually arrived at a characteristic sound and managed to establish himself as one of England's preeminent producing talents.

Caroline Rose self-published her first album America Religious through Little Hi! Records in 2012. Produced by multi-instrumentalist Jer Coons, the album was a melange of country, folk and rockabilly music and was well-received. Following up on this streak, Rose released I Will Not Be Afraid two years later, exploring various styles of Americana. For her third album Loner, Caroline Rose broke off from her folk and country mold to experiment with pop and rock music. The songs in this album stood out due to the humor and sarcasm in their lyrics and have garnered Rose a considerable amount of appreciation.

Leif Vollebekk is an alternative folk singer/songwriter from Quebec, Canada whose skills as a multi-instrumentalist is as renowned as his uniquely natural songwriting ability. Drawing influence from the folk traditions of his home city and the blues stylings of a bygone age, what Vollebekk is able to achieve with his voice and guitar creates an unusually moving sound that consistently leaves audiences entranced. Fluent in both French and English, Vollebekk's songs are written in both languages, highlighting his mixed cultural and linguistic roots in a way that imparts to audiences a particularly personal experience through his music.

Though punk rock was a dominating musical force in England during the 1970s with its no-frills approach to songwriting and personal aesthetic, the movement's popularity hit an apex and started to wane by the end of the decade when a flood of new wave and post-punk outfits began to fill the scene. One such artist was a man named Stuart Leslie Goddard who is better known by his moniker, Adam Ant. With one of the most distinctive voices in the blue-eyed soul genre, Paul Carrack has worked with many musicians and bands looking to enhance their music with his signature voice. Kelly Lee Owens is a British music producer and singer-songwriter known for her brand of techno-pop music. The London-based artist made her debut as a vocalist on several of Daniel Avery's tracks. She then released a series of singles from 2015 up until the release of her self-titled album in 2017. The record received great praise from critics and led to the release of a deluxe edition later that year. For the next three years, she continued to release non-album singles such as "Bird," "Let it Go" and "Luminous Spaces." Her sophomore album, Inner Song dropped in 2020.

The king of shock rock Vincent Damon Furnier, best known by his moniker Alice Cooper, rose to fame in the 1970s with his eleborate, horror movie-inspired live shows. During his heyday Cooper would put on performances that were just as much entertainment theater as they were musical performances--with guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and other lewd devices. Though Alice Cooper started off as a band in the late 1960s, Furnier adopted the name for himself starting in 1975 with his concept album Welcome to My Nightmare. With a catalog of music over two dozen records long, Alice Cooper continues to offer his morbid brand of performance art during live shows for a new generation of metal fans.

Heath is a band from Los Angeles that creates a distinctive style of music that oftentimes straddles the genre gamut--dipping its toes in a number of sonic pigeonholes including noise rock, neo-psych and electronica. Formed in 2005, the group initially received attention for its high energy stage shows as well as its popular 2007 remix of the song "Crimewave" by Crystal Castles. Il Divo is a multi-national operatic pop vocal group that was created by music and reality TV impresario Simon Cowell in 2004. After holding auditions, Il Divo's lineup was finalized as French pop vocalist Sebastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor David Miller and Swiss tenor Urs Buhler. The group released its eponymously-titled debut LP in 2004 and it quickly it became a best selling album in the United States as well as in various European countries. Though the group has sold upwards of 26 million albums worldwide, Il Divo is primarily known for its live shows, that feature members performing classical songs as well as more contemporary pop hits from artists like Maria Carey, Toni Braxton and slightly older songs by singers like Frank Sinatra.
