Physician, researcher, and ethics professor Dr. Matt McCarthy will be speaking at the Hudson Library & Historical Society on Wednesday, December 4 at 7 pm about his latest book, Superbugs: The Race to Stop an Epidemic. In his book, McCarthy takes readers behind the true story and groundbreaking clinical research behind superbugs, lethal bacteria that are immune to known antibiotics. Discover the role superbugs play in our understanding of medicine and microorganisms. **PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT WAS RESCHEDULED FROM JUNE**

McCarthy, Ph.D. is the author of two national bestsellers, The Real Doctor Will See You Shortly and Odd Man Out. He is a staff physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and assistant professor of medicine at Weil Cornell. His work has appeared in numerous publications including Sports Illustrated, Slate, The New England Journal of Medicine and Deadspin. He is also editor-in-chief of Current Fungal Infection Reports.
