Trauma and mass casualty disaster management is an important dynamic in any first responder and healthcare worker's environment and it is one that needs to be examined and drilled often considering recent events. This symposium will focus on different topics that have become more important in recent months, more important due to the increasing number of mass violence incidents, more important due to the number of large scale evacuations. Mass casualty incidents happen when least expected, in small rural town, large urban cities, and are publicized in grand fashion on social media. How do first responders and health care workers respond when the mass casualty is right outside their door, what happens when the hospital affected is their own? It is devastating to watch it unfold on the television or social media, but what happens, who comes, when does it end when it is right here at home?
