WOMEN UNITED OF LAKE COUNTY is proud to host a screening of NO SMALL MATTER.

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

6:00 pm -- Reception and light appetizers

6:30 pm -- No Small Matter Film

7:45 pm -- Panel discussion and next steps

NO SMALL MATTER is the first feature documentary to explore the most underestimated and powerful force for good in America today: early childhood education. Through poignant stories, the film lays out evidence for the importance of education in the first five years. No Small Matter reveals how our failure to act on the compelling evidence that early childhood education matters has a stunning impact on American families and our countrys social and economic future.

Join us to see how this film re-defines the public's understanding of what's going on in children's brains from birth to five and challenges us to understand and appreciate how quality early learning programs can shape young lives and our countrys future. Guests will be given opportunities to take action that will push educational needs to the top of our social agenda.

Why should we care? Early Childhood Education:

Is cumulative so the earlier the investment the bigger the dividends

Is impactful to national security and local crime prevention

Is essential to a strong and solid future workforce

Is necessary to set the brain on a path for life-long learning

Is part of the promise of the American dream

Is not a partisan issue

Early childhood education is no small matter to:

Parents

Educators at all levels

Elected officials

Local government officials

Military

Doctors

Faith-based leaders

Law enforcement

Corporations and small businesses

Veterans

The community-at larger

Although this film is making its way across the county, this is the first and only screening in Lake County.

Space is limited and tickets are required.
