Cate Le Bon is a singer/songwriter from Wales who rose to fame in 2007 while supporting Gruff Rhys' solo tour of the UK. She released her first EP Edrych yn Llygaid Ceffyl Benthyg, recorded exclusively in Welsh, in 2008 and has since recorded in both Welsh and English and played some of the world's most renowned festivals, such as Glastonbury and South by Southwest. Cate Le Bon attributes her dark lyrics and haunting tone to a succession of pet deaths in her childhood that left her exceptionally interested in death. Her characteristic morbid themes are obvious on her 2009 debut album Me Oh My, originally titled Pet Deaths, an oddly arresting collection of songs executed with unapologetic ease.
