This annual festival is held for three days during the first week of February. It celebrates the rich diversity of plants for which Chiang Mai and northern Thailand are famous, focusing on temperate-zone specimens, which are at their best during this cool month. Along the streets are displays of flowers, handicraft sales, flower competitions and beauty contests. Exquisite floral floats, portraying many themes, make their way down Tha Pae Road. This colorful event is fun for all the family and makes for some great photo-taking opportunities.
