Although Laurent Voulzy has contributed to several pop, rock and experimental projects since the 1960s, he is perhaps best-known for his work as a solo artist and for his collaborations with his longtime friend and singer/songwriter Alain Souchon. Hailing from Paris, Voulzy saw his first international hit early on in his career with his 1977 debut solo single "Rockollection," one of Voulzy's first songwriting collaborations with Souchon. Walking the line between pop/rock and experimental music, Voulzy has managed to dip into mainstream audiences while maintaining his appeal as an international artist with records like 2006's Le Septième Vague, and songs such as "Le Soleil Donne," which was sung in French, English and Spanish.
